As we have been experiencing delays with Covid-19 affecting deliveries from the quarry, we have  memorials from our showroom which would be available once the permit application has been approved by the Local Authority or Churchyard.  Please contact us if you would like more details.

Most Council Cemeteries will have a burial and cremation area, and depending upon which area the memorial is to be sited will dictate the size of memorial permitted.  Some areas will also permit a kerb surround; either:

  • A 'Mini Kerb' which could be up to 30" wide x 18" depth on a cremation area or 42" wide x 22" depth on a burial area or
  • A 'Full Kerb' which could be up to 2'6" wide x 6'6" depth

We are happy to advise you on these regulations and help you liaise with the Council if you are unsure about the grave number where the memorial is to be sited.

Typical example of a Cremation sized memorial suitable for Coventry City Council Cemeteries.  This memorial is pictured in a Silk Blue granite with an overall height of 2'3".  This is the height of the headstone and the base.  The overall width of the memorial, as pictured, is 30" wide and 18" in depth.

We are able to offer alternative ways in which the base is made to allow for chipping or soil interior or a granite shelf for easier maintainance.

Full drawings are available upon order of your memorial which will show the extent of the headstone, base and kerbs with your chosen inscription to scale to ensure that you are happy with the layout before we start to work on the memorial.

An example of a memorial covering the full extent of a burial grave.  The kerb surround can be made in a variety of different ways and feature a chipping or soil interior or a granite cover slab for easy maintainance.

This type of memorial is not permitted for all burial plots and we would need to check the grave number to ascertain if this type of memorial is suitable.

If you decide to have a kerb surround on the grave, there is also a choice of interior we can provide for you.

A granite interior will provide a very low maintenance option if the grave is in an area of woodland and likely to collect leaves making the grave look untidy.  Alternatively, a soil interior will provide additional space for planting or placing items of special sentiment.

If you prefer a more decorative look, there is a choice of chippings and glass pebbles in a variety of colours to compliment the granite or ornamentation.

Nuneaton

In January 2017 we decided to close our Nuneaton office after being based there for 25 years. We are grateful to our customers from Nuneaton and surrounding villages for allowing us to help them during their difficult time choosing a memorial.  Our service to Nuneaton families still continues from our Coventry office, including new memorials, restoration work and adding inscriptions to existing memorials.
